DAUGHTERS OF THE KING

Saint Martha’s Chapter

Are you looking to deepen your spiritual life?
Do you want to share your faith journey with others?
Does your prayer life need a pick me up?

These are the questions that the members of the Daughters of the King asked themselves before committing to the 3 month 12 lesson study to become a member of the order. The Saint Martha’s chapter of the Daughters of the King is a local chapter of the National Order for Episcopal Women. We are a lay order of women to take life vows of prayer and service. In preparation for these life vows we spend time in prayer alone and together asking God for the wisdom and guidance in our daily lives to do what his will may be.

The motto of the order is

FOR HIS SAKE
I am but one; But I am one;
I cannot do everything But I can do something.
What I can do, I ought to do.
What I ought to do, By the grace of God I will do.
Lord, what will you have me do?

If you are interested in hearing more about the Daughter’s you may contact Mary Ellinger at Trinity Church Woodbridge. Or you may attend any one of our meetings, which are held on the third Sunday of the month following the 10am Holy Eucharist.
